Meet Your Speech Therapist

Wendy Buckels is a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist specializing in pediatric speech therapy with over three decades of experience helping children find their voice and confidence through communication. She holds a Master of Science in Speech and Hearing from the University of New Mexico and a Bachelor of Science in Communicative Disorders from UC Santa Barbara, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.

Throughout her career, Wendy has worked across a variety of settings—including schools, teletherapy speech sessions, and private speech therapy practice—providing individualized speech and language therapy to students from kindergarten through high school, as well as to individuals with developmental disabilities.

Known for her caring approach and strong collaboration with families and educators, Wendy believes in making speech therapy for children engaging, empowering, and tailored to each child’s unique strengths. She is proficient in conversational Spanish and sign language, allowing her to connect with a diverse range of clients.

When she’s not supporting her students’ communication goals, Wendy enjoys lifelong learning, connecting with her community, and exploring ways to make speech therapy in Oceanside both effective and fun.
